Stealth Computer has come forth today to announce their brand new tiny PC dubbed the LPC-100. This computer features some pretty highly sought after specs that any consumer who needs a PC with such a form factor would appreciate.
First of all, it ways in at just 1.2 pound and features either an Intel Core 2 Duo or Dual Core Celeron processor. Additionally, ti features an Intel GM45 mobile chipset with an integrated GPU, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 500GB of hard drive space. That low weight can be in part thank tot he aluminum case that will apparently hold up to some rugged terrain.
What isn’t so great about this computer is the fact that it starts at $995. I think I’ll pass.

Dropbox Releases Beta Application For Research in Motion’s BlackBerry Platform
0 Comments | Posted by Иван Петков in Mobile tech news

Are you using Dropbox? If not you may want to check it out as it has been critically acclaimed as one of the web’s latest and greatest hosting platforms to date. What’s so great about Dropbox is its ability to sync up with your mobile devices and receive files sent to the service from them. This means if you take a picture with your iPhone, you’ll be able to utilize the Dropbox application to quickly upload the photo to the service.
BlackBerry uses, until now, have been left in the dust as there had been no Dropbox application available for Research in Motion’s mobile platform. Luckily, it was just announced today that Dropbox has released an extremeley limited beta edition of their mobile application for the BlackBerry platform. Unfortunately, if you aren’t already in on the beta you probably won’t be as according to reports there were only 500 slots available – all of which have already been filled.
We’ll let you know when a public beta goes live – hopefully it’s soon.

Sony Playstation 3 Update 3.41 Causing Hard Drive Upgrade Woes?
0 Comments | Posted by Иван Петков in Mobile tech news

One of the greatest features that the Playstation 3 has over the Xbox 360 is its ability to take hard drives that aren’t proprietary. This means you don’t have to shell out unheard of amounts of cash to Microsoft to buy one of their hard drivers that were specifically designed for the console. Instead, you can take to a website like Newegg and find yourself a hard drive with plenty of space for close to nothing.
Unfortunately, it seems that this has backfired on Sony with the recent release of their firmware update version 3.41 as user reports suggest that this update makes it almost impossible to install a new hard drive. Apparently, after installing anew hard drive and then updating to version 3.41, users have been left with a bricked console and sometimes even a corrupted drive.
Sony is sure to be working on a fix for this and as soon as more information is made known we’ll relay it to you.

HTC EVO 4G Android 2.2 Download Gets Leaked, Is Pulled Shortly After
0 Comments | Posted by Иван Петков in Mobile tech news

Despite being released quite some time ago, the HTC EVO 4G is still one of the most technologically advanced phones on the market. With its 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch touchscreen display, 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flasha nd a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera it can easily keep up with even the highest end Android powered devices on the market today like the Motorola Droid X and Samsung Galaxy S.
However, one thing that is crippling the HTC EVO 4G is the fact that it features Android 2.1 and not 2.2. This means that some of the speed improvements to both the operating system and browser are not found within the the EVO 4G which should be considering it’s regarded as one of the premiere Android devices.
Luckily, HTC has been kind enough to let us know that the EVO 4G Android 2.2 roll outs will begin sometime early next month (which means you won’t have to wait long considering next month begins tomorrow). However, it seems that HTC got a bit trigger happy and released the Android 2.2 update on their website which was quickly found by the online community.
If you managed to get your hands on the download you’ll know that it’s as simple as booting the .zip file on an installed SD slot but if you didn’t get your hands on it, it looks like you’ll be waiting until next month.
